AI Roblox animation generator

Describe a move in a sentence and get an R15 animation you can check frame by frame and open in Roblox Studio.

Try it free

RoMotion turns a sentence into an animation for a Roblox R15 character. You write what the character should do, pick a length, and get a motion you can play, scrub and check frame by frame in the browser. When it looks right, export it as a KeyframeSequence and open it in Roblox Studio.

It’s meant for the moves that eat a developer’s afternoon: a sword swing with a proper wind-up, a tired idle, a victory emote, a stagger after a hit. You start from a working animation instead of a T-pose, then fix the details in the Animation Editor if you need to.

How it works

  1. Describe the move

Write it in plain words, for example “heavy two-handed sword slam with a half spin before the hit”. Mention timing or mood if it matters. Short and specific beats long and poetic; the prompt guide has examples.

  2. Pick a length and a model

Choose 1 to 10 seconds. Basic handles everyday moves like walks, gestures, idles and reactions. Premium is for bigger moves: dances, stunts, fights and combos.

  3. Check it

The result opens in a viewer built for animation: step one frame at a time, slow it to 0.1×, turn on onion skin or motion paths, and see it on the R15 rig.

  4. Take it into Studio

Export → R15 export (.rbxmx) gives you a KeyframeSequence. Drop it into Studio, publish it, and play it from a script. Step-by-step guide.

What it’s good at, and what it isn’t

Good results come from moves a single character does with their own body: locomotion, idles, emotes, punches and kicks, sword and tool swings, reactions, jumps and landings.

  • Props aren’t in the motion. The animation moves the body. A sword or a gun is attached in your game, so a hand that should grip a weapon may need a small fix.
  • One character at a time. Two characters interacting (a hug, a grab, a throw) has to be made as two separate animations and lined up by hand.
  • Loops aren’t guaranteed. Ask for a loop and the motion will try to end where it started, but check the seam before you ship a walk cycle.

What you get

  • An R15 KeyframeSequence (.rbxmx), keyed at 30 frames per second, with Action priority, ready for Roblox Studio.
  • The original file (.glb) if you want to open it in Blender or another tool.
  • A share link, and the option to publish it on the Marketplace for free or for credits.

Cost

Every account gets 3 free Basic generations a week, up to 5 seconds each. Past that, Basic costs 10 credits per second and Premium 30 credits per second. A failed generation costs nothing. See Pricing for credit packs and plans.

Questions

Is RoMotion free?

Yes, to start. A free account gets 3 Basic generations a week, each up to 5 seconds long. Longer animations, Premium and extra generations use credits.

Does it make R6 animations?

No. RoMotion makes R15 animations only. See R15 animation generator for what that means for your rig.

Can I use the animations in my game?

Yes, including games that make money. As between you and RoMotion, you own what you generate. AI output may not be protected by copyright everywhere, and someone else could get similar motion from a similar prompt. The details are in the Terms.

Do I need Blender or Moon Animator?

No. The R15 export is a KeyframeSequence that opens straight in Roblox Studio. You can still download the original file if you want to edit it elsewhere. Here is how to import it.

How long can an animation be?

From 1 to 10 seconds. Free generations go up to 5 seconds.

Is RoMotion made by Roblox?

No. RoMotion is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Roblox Corporation.
