Roblox text to animation

How to write a prompt that comes back as the move you pictured, with examples you can open in one click.

Write a prompt

RoMotion reads your prompt and turns it into motion on an R15 body. The words you choose decide what you get, so it pays to write prompts the way an animator would brief someone: what the body does, in what order, with what weight.

A prompt that works

Most good prompts have three parts:

  1. The action

What the body does, as a verb. Slam, stagger, crouch-walk, wave, backflip.

  2. How it’s done

Weight, speed, mood or style. Heavy, tired, sneaky, cheerful, from an orthodox guard.

  3. The order of beats

For anything with more than one part, say what comes first. Jab then cross. Get hit, stagger two steps back, recover.

Vague vs specific

  • “attack”“Boxing jab then cross from an orthodox guard”
  • “dance”“Two quick fist pumps, then both arms up and hold”
  • “zombie”“Slow zombie walk, dragging the left foot”
  • “sneaking”“Low crouch walk, careful steps, looking side to side”
  • “hit”“Get hit in the chest, stagger two steps back, recover”

Tips

  • Match the length to the move. A single punch fits in 1 to 2 seconds. A combo or a short dance needs 4 to 6. Stretching a quick move over 10 seconds gives you a lot of standing around.
  • Only name the body parts you care about. “Wave with the right hand” is useful. Listing every limb usually makes the motion stiffer.
  • Leave out props and camera. The animation moves the body only. Write “two-handed overhead swing”, not “swing the golden sword at the dragon”.
  • One character per prompt. For two characters, make two animations.
  • Enhance prompt (on by default) rewrites short prompts into a clearer motion description before generating. It keeps to the body parts you named. Turn it off when you’ve already written exactly what you want.
  • Pick the right model. Basic suits walks, gestures, idles and reactions. Premium suits dances, stunts, fights and combos.

Prompts to try

Each one opens in Create with the prompt filled in.

  • Combat“Heavy two-handed sword slam with a half spin before the hit”
  • Combat“Boxing jab then cross from an orthodox guard”
  • Movement“Slow zombie walk, dragging the left foot”
  • Movement“Low crouch walk, careful steps, looking side to side”
  • Emotes“Two quick fist pumps, then both arms up and hold”
  • Reactions“Get hit in the chest, stagger two steps back, recover”
  • Idle“Tired idle, shoulders dropped, slow breathing, shifting weight”
  • Stunts“Standing backflip with a tuck and a heavy landing”

After you generate

Scrub the timeline and step through the frames before exporting. Watch the hands and feet: that’s where problems show first. When it’s right, use Export → R15 export and follow the Roblox Studio import guide.
